Tasty Potato Soup Recipe

If you love potatoes you will love this recipe. It is easy to make and if you have a Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender you can simply blend it all in the pot. For the fresh homemade bread that goes the best with it you can make any recipe of your Zojirushi BB-HAC10 Breadmaker. I love the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender because it is strong and you will get a completely smooth soup.

Ingredients:
  • 6 Potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 4 Cups of water
  • 1 Tablespoon of butter
  • ½ Tablespoon of flour
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 2 Tablespoons of chopped parsley (you do not have to chop it too fine as it is all going to be blended with a Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender)
  • 2 Tablespoons grated cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Cut the potatoes into slices
  2. Chop the onion
  3. Add it to your pot (a Cuisinart Classic Stockpot is ideal for big quantities)
  4. Add the water and boil for one to one and a half hour until the vegetables are very soft
  5. Add the salt and pepper
  6. Add the parsley
  7. Puree with the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender
  8. Thicken with the butter, milk and flour, here you may have to adjust the ingredients to get the consistency you want while stirring continuously
  9. Serve hot sprinkled with the cheese.
For a different texture and look you can puree the soup only partially and add the parsley at the end.

Do You Love Hand Blenders? Well Have A Look At The Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender

Hand blenders are one of the handiest appliances to have in the kitchen. So having a look at the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender is a very good idea. I'm sure you are like me and that you love hand blenders, so I know you will love the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender.

For sauces and soups you want a strong blender, yet it should fit your hand and be easy to handle. So, I thought I'll go and have a look at what others are saying about the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender and tell you about it.

This is what C. Scagliola has to say:

"If you are looking for an immersion blender with lots of power and a "NO STAIN" Stainless Steel shaft then IMO, you cannot go wrong with this model from Cusinart."

Do not underestimate the "no stain" part of her comment. The plastic from others stain very easily and if you want to puree red and yellow food you will end up with a stained blender, not even to mention if you blend food or sauce that contains Turmeric or Curry!

And this is what P. Kothari has to say:

"This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. The motor is smooth and powerful - it is the Audi V8 of the hand blender world"

Well if this is not a vote of confidence in the Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender I do not know what would be!

Strong and smooth is what we have to go for here! I love it.

So, why not go and have a look at the: Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender

Creamy Soup With Your Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender

If you do not have a Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender yet, you do not know what you are missing out on. I love my hand blender and making soups and sauces with it is pure joy.

OK, so no you want to know why I like my blender so much. Well, to start off with it is strong and it can blend huge quantities of soup with ease. In spite of the fact that it is so strong, it fits perfectly into your hand and it is easy to control.

So even if you make a really large pot of soup, you will not have any problems blending it perfectly. For me that is important. You do not want a mess of soup splattered all over the kitchen because you lost control of your machine.

The example of the soup I'm giving you is not very strongly colored, so in this case my following point does not matter, but if you use it often you will realize how important it is. What I'm referring to is the fact that it has a stainless steel shaft that prevents staining. So, even if you blend tomato soup and curry sauces with it, it will not stain.

The shaft is also dishwasher safe and therefore it makes cleaning up a whole lot easier. Speaking of cleaning up, because you can do the blending right in the pot, you also have fewer dishes to wash as you are not using extra bowls or jugs to blend your soups and sauces with.

Well, now to wet your appetite, here is a tasty creamy Cauliflower Soup Recipe for you where you can use your machine to puree the soup with. You may think cauliflower for a soup sounds weird, but you will be surprised at how tasty it is. So, try it and spoil your family with a tasty, nutritious, hot soup this winter,

Creamy Cauliflower Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 Large head of cauliflower broken into florets
  • 2 C Chicken broth
  • 2 T Chicken bouillon granules
  • 2 C Half and half
  • 2 C Milk
  • 1 Carrot, shredded
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1/4 t Garlic powder
  • 1/2 C Instant mashed potato flakes
  • 1 (8 oz) pkg. Cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make It:

  1. Place the cauliflower, broth and bouillon granules into a large soup pot over high heat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a brisk boil.
  3. Place the heat on low, cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until the cauliflower is fork tender.
  4. Remove the cauliflower from the pot and mash with a potato masher.
  5. Pour the broth mixture into the crock pot and then add the mashed cauliflower.
  6. Pour the cream and milk into the crock pot.
  7. Add the shredded carrots, bay leaf and garlic powder.
  8. Stir to combine the ingredients together well.
  9. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 3 hours.
  10. Stir the potato flakes into the crock pot, cover and continue cooking on low for 40 minutes or until the soup is a thick as you like.
  11. Remove the bay leaf.
  12. Use your Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender to puree the soup completely
  13. Sprinkle in the cheese and stir to incorporate.
  14. Recover and continue cooking 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted into the soup.
Serving Size: 8

Of course you can use a normal blender for this. The problem is you will have to do it in stages, a little bit at a time to prevent accidents. If you add too much soup at a time to a normal jug blender the lid will blow because of the heat of the soup. The soup will also turn out a bit chunky as well.

So, for a perfectly smooth soup it is best to use a Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender.
